Dividends Per Share Help Please.?

A dividend is a bonus, not an obligation. The board of directors can increase or decrease the dividend, or simply get rid of it. Since it is not an obligation, it is very unlikely that they have dividends in arrears, so your assumption in very likely incorrect. Also, par value should not have anything to do with dividends as that is a number usually picked out of the air. Most stocks have par values of .01, and stock prices and dividends all over the place. Based upon the information you have provided above, I do not think there is enough information to determine dividend distribution. Also, since the dividend amount rises each year, you are assuming that the preferred shareholders' dividend does not increase while the common shareholders do. I would find out if there is any more information you might have missed. Good luck!
